How Do You Plan to Vote?

Early In-Person

By Mail

Step 1: Request your ballot ASAP

  • You must first be registered to vote

Step 2: Fill out your ballot

Your ballot contains two envelopes: (1) A secrecy envelope and (2) A return envelope  

  • Step 1: Vote by completely filling in the circles on the ballot using either blue or black ink
  • Step 2: Once filled out, put your filled-out ballot into the secrecy envelope and seal
  • Step 3: Put your secrecy envelope into your return envelope
  • Step 4: Read and sign the oath
  • Step 5: Your ballot is ready to send

  • Mail it in: Stamp and use the pre-addressed envelope mail in your ballot

What type of ID DO i NEED?

List 1 - Photo ID including name and address (One Required)
  • Valid Arizona driver license
  • Valid Arizona ID card
  • Tribal enrollment card
  • Valid United States federal, state, or local government-issued identification
List 2 - ID without a photograph with name and address (Two Required)
  • Voter ID card, paper or digital
  • Utility Bill (can be for electric, gas, water, solid waste, sewer, telephone, cellular phone, or cable television)
  • Bank or Credit Union Statement (must be dated within 90 days of the election)
  • Valid AZ Vehicle Registration
  • Property Tax Statement (must match the voter’s name and address)
  • Tribal Identification (this includes Indian census cards, tribal enrollment cards, or other tribal identification without the voter’s photo)
  • AZ Vehicle Insurance Card (with the voter’s name and address)
  • Valid Government ID (federal, state, or local without a photo)
  • Mail marked “Official Election Material”
List 3 – Combinations of Identification from Lists 1 & 2 (Two Required)
  • Valid Photo ID (from List 1) where the address does not reasonably match the voter registration record & Valid Address (from List 2) where the address matches the voter registration record
  • U.S. Passport & Valid Address (from List 2) where the address matches the voter registration record
  • U.S. Military ID & Valid Address (from List 2) where the address matches the voter registration record
No ID? Provisional Voting
  • A provisional ballot is a special kind of ballot given to voters who can't provide the necessary documents required by federal law in Arizona to vote at the polls.
